This month's meeting will take place on Tuesday, 27 June at the usual time of 7:30 PM in the Ven Yew room at Greshams Sports and Social Club, Tuddenham Road, Ipswich. As always, we will discuss our latest model builds, so bring yourselves and your latest creations for us to see what you've been up to over the past month. We welcome anyone with an interest in scale modelling, regardless of skill level. Within our club you are bound to meet someone with a common interest as our members build ships, aircraft, military vehicles, automobiles, motorcycles, and figures. For driving directions and satnav details follow this link: Greshams Map
Don't forget, our own model show will take place on Sunday, 25 June at Greshams. For a flyer with all the details, visit or "Events" page at http://www.ipmsipswich.com/suffolk-model-show-2017.html
If you are planning purchases of models, decals or other accessories in the next few weeks, please consider emailing your order to Kevin Nunn at Brigade Models. He can take orders up until 19 June, the Monday before our show, and you can take delivery at our show. So what are the benefits? First of all, Brigade Models discounts all advance orders. If you email them your shopping list, they will quote you a price. Discounts may vary depending on the items, but you will not be charged full retail. Second of all, you will be supporting a vendor that supports our show. Hannants is one of Brigade's suppliers, so they can easily get most anything you need. You can place your orders by emailing Brigade Models at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Set up for clubs and vendors at our show will be at 09:00 AM, with general public being allowed in from 10:00 AM . For IPMS Ipswich members and any other participants willing to pitch in, we will need help getting tables set up so "all hands on deck" will be appreciated. The Greshams staff will arrive at 08:00 AM to start clearing up from the previous night's function, but if they have not finished by 09:00, we will need to do what we can to help so that we are ready in time. Could all IPMS Ipswich members please plan to arrive at 09:00 AM. Thank you in advance!
If you are a member of the public please do not arrive before 10:00 AM as we need time to get set up.
We encourage anyone wishing to thin out their stash to bring your unwanted kits to sell, and hopefully recycle your cash with the vendors supporting our show! There will be no charge from IPMS Ipswich to sell your kits, providing you are not a dealer and there is space available at your club stand. We may be able to allocate additional tables for "swap and sell" if space permits.
This year marks the return of our raffle, and we are amassing some interesting kits, books and other items, so please consider buying raffle tickets when you arrive! I have posted links to our sponsors. I will also be promoting their products on our Facebook page as they so generously donated.
Announcing a music themed competition for our July club meeting
Think of a song or a band...now think of a model that would fit the song, then build it. It's that simple. The only limits are your imagination really. "Little Deuce Coupe", "Paint it Black", Deep Purple, The B-52s, Demons and Wizards...the inspiration can come from the song title, the lyrics, the name of the band, or the name of the album. So have fun with this one and bring your finished model to our July club meeting along with the inspiration for your model to display along with it (CD or album cover, lyric sheet, etc.). Visitors are welcome to participate! http://www.ipmsipswich.com/music-themed-competition-25-july-2017.html
In the meantime, For a full listing of model shows coming up over the next few months, visit our "Events" page at: http://www.ipmsipswich.com/events.html
