In the interest of public safety and in keeping with the latest direction from the government regarding the COVID 19 virus, IPMS Ipswich has suspended all of our meetings at the Ipswich & District Indoor Bowls Club until further notice. When we are able to safely return to our regular meetings, we will post notice both on this web site and our IPMS Ipswich Facebook page. We will continue to liaise closely with the bowls club management and monitor advice and direction from the government to determine when a good time will be to return to our normal meeting routine.
In the interim, if any of our followers who live in the Ipswich or surrounding area would like to join us, we have a very active Facebook IPMS Ipswich Group page where members are continually posting the progress on their latest builds. If you want to join, click on the link above and send us a join request. We also conducted our first virtual meeting on our usual meeting night, where everyone posted photos of their latest builds. Those posts, as well as our virtual competition results will appear in the next web site update.
To view the results of our March competition click here http://www.ipmsipswich.com/march-2020.html or scroll to March 2020 under the Past Meetings tab at the top of this page.
The results of our April 2020 meeting appear below. This was our second virtual meeting on our Facebook Group Page.
Don't forget, in addition to your normal monthly builds, the theme for our June competition is "SIMPLY RED"!
EVENTS COMING UP SOON
Our annual Suffolk Scale Model Show has been cancelled due to ongoing COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. Even if restrictions were lifted by late June, we would not be able to ensure the safety of the public and our participants. As an alternative, we will be hosting a virtual model show on a dedicated Facebook Group Page which we have set up at https://www.facebook.com/groups/286681109017279/ .
If you are a modeller and would like to display your models, please request to join the group at the link above. We would especially like to encourage modellers and clubs in the East Anglia Region to participate! The page settings for the show will remain "Private" to allow us time to organise everything. We will change the settings to "Public" on the day of our show, after which it will remain "Public". A request to join the group prior to our show date indicates your intent to post photos of your models for the show. Please do not request to join prior to the show date if you do not intend to display your models by posting photos. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, 17 June. Most of you have photos of your models already, so it will only be a case of uploading them with a brief description. The format for description should be as follows:
* Brief description of build - such as aftermarket products, paints, decals, etc. used along with any noteworthy tips or techniques that may be of interest.
Please submit your photos EARLY if possible, the sooner the better!
